  What are the best things to first bring up to a JW parent about mistakes, lies, etc., from the GB?

  Ask them questions.

  Find a subject you are familiar with eg NGO/UN fiasco, 144k doctrine, blood doctrine whatever.... and keep asking them pointed questions. Research the topic first here to get some good points, then ask your parents questions that they can't answer.

  I remember reading somewhere that you're not baptised, is that right? If so, the onus is on them to convince you that the JWs have the right religion.

  Hopefully, in trying to answer your questions, you can bring up ideas that might make them think.

  some recent threads have touched me emotionally and prompted me to reflect.

  when i think back to when i joined this forum, i was still struggling to come to terms with such a lot of pain.

  it has definitely been a journey, but there is so much i've come to terms with.

  one thing that i have always noticed even when i was a jw is that the jw org has lots and lots and lots of rules for allsorts of stupid petty rules which make no difference.

  when you read the bible you see how they are clearly in the wrong here and are acting like the pharisees themselves, who imposed so much pressure on others to conform to the law.

  am i missing something here!?!?

  Should you ever tell tour aging parents the truth about the truth

  since finding out the truth about the truth myself and having successfully extricated myself and my parents about the jw's, i find myself with a new dilema that being they still believe the bible as a literal book for their salvation as i has read all of thomas paines works and how the bible is not very good for the human family, as they are of advancing years would it be inappropriate to shatter their illusions of some kind of paradise and let them flounder in a moral precipice and wonder what their lives have been about.

  on the flip side once their time has come how would i feel for not telling them their false views.

  at the moment i am in the deist point of view, with a tendency of the agnostic, it is quite a dilema!.

  If you're going to deliberately demolish their faith in the WTS/Bible, what are you going to replace it with?

  It's one thing to say, "I don't believe in it anymore". But to say, "this is why YOU shouldn't believe it anymore", then you have the responsibility to help them as their world falls apart. Do you have the ability to help them with their questions, doubts and fears 24/7?

  What holds witnesses back is not physical force but their belief system in following what wts tells them to which often equals to being held back physically in fear of dying at Armageddon or displeasing God
